Born in 1969.
A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications, Jean-Benoît Besset began his career with the Orange Group in 1994 in Research & Development in satellite systems, then became responsible for deployment and operation of the ATM network in France. In 2002, he created Orange's sales promotion activity for enterprise mobile data services in France. After two marketing positions at Orange Business Services, he joined Orange France's strategy department to model the transformation to fiber or the creation of value from networks. In 2016, he joined Orange France's Technical and Information Systems Division to take charge of strategy. In 2020, he set up the Environment department to develop the appropriation of environmental and energy issues within technical and IT teams, and to implement operational management of these issues. In September 2022, he moved to head office to take charge of the Orange Group's CSR department, and on July 1, 2023 was appointed head of the Group's Environment and Energy Transition.
