Alejandro Cadenas has more than 20 years' experience in the telecom sector and has gone through different transformational waves from an infrastructure technology perspective (3G, 4G, and now 5G) to the evolution from traditional to digital telcos. His focus is to provide expert insights to customers on the key businesses and technologies in the mobility space — more specifically, leading IDC's European 5G Strategies, European Consumer Telecoms Strategies research program.
He has held senior positions at Motorola (as 3G/IMS Global Architecture Lead), Ericsson (Digital Global Director of 5G/IoT Consulting), and Telefónica Digital (Head of Digital Product, Head of IoT Strategy and Strategic Partnerships and Innovation).
Cadenas is based in Madrid and holds an MSc in physics and an MSc and PhD in telecoms. He also has an executive MBA from ICADE Business School in Madrid and has taken part in executive programs from top tier universities such as Berkeley and MIT. He often speaks at digital transformation technology and business forums. In his spare time, he is an amateur astronomer and he enjoys biking with his sons.
